Not Quite Perfect eBook Catherine Bybee
Catherine Bybee has done it again! She has taken what could be an ordinary romance & made it something special. Her characters make you fall in love with them & pull you into the story. The twists in the plot keep you totally immersed until the very end. She knows how to incorporate all emotions in the story & can pull reactions from you little by little. It would be so easy to feel bad for Mary with her background but instead she has you focusing on how much she has accomplished. Glen is a perfect playboy pilot who is afraid of commitment & tries to change his behavior. Despite all of their reasons to stay apart & not trust each other, & the fact they are on different coasts a lot of the time, the chemistry is strong enough to pull them together. When Mary's life is threatened, will Glenn deny his feelings or come to save her? I loved this book & couldn't put it down. I recommend it to everyone!

When she keep running into pilot Glen Fairchild through friends the chemistry is there but Mary doesn't want to be involved with a commitment phobe player that lives on the opposite coast. When Mary does decide to test what she thought would be a fling, or a one night stand they find a chemistry is stronger than either of them thought. Testing if the long distance relationship could work Glen swoops in weekends and wines and dines her and steps up her sex life. Long distance seems to work well for them until Mary starts having trouble at home. Crazy things are happening in her life that become really scary. Can Glen make it to Mary's side in time to save her?
Another awesome story from Catherine Bybee. #5 in her Not Quite series totally worth the read.
I don't think I have laughed as much as I have than with this book. I've loved all of the characters in the Not Quite Series but I think I love these 2 the most! To see the changes in both of them throughout the book is just heart warming and even the suspense had you knowing these 2 were meant to be together. I hope there will be another one for Jason. Another amazing book in this amazing series great job!
Not Quite Perfect is the fifth book in the Not Quite Series by Catherine Bybee.
A year after meeting through mutual friends at a writers convention, Mary finds herself calling Glen to pass on the news that her friend Dakota was in labor. When Glen flies his sister in law out to California to wait out the birth, he picks up his teasing and flirting where he left off. Extremely independent and wary of play boys, Mary shuts him down, though she can't deny her attraction to Glen.
After some good advice from mutual friends, Glen and Mary finally schedule a date. Glen brings his A game, and the dates he plans are extremely romantic and unexpected to Mary. When Mary's home is broken into while she's in New York with Glen, he travels back with her and stays until he feels certain that Mary's home is secure. While both Glen and Mary start dating with the intention to have fun, and remain friends, it's not long before they're both wishing they had more time to spend together.
One of the things I enjoy most about Catherine's books is the development of the characters relationships. As the story progresses, the trust between Mary and Glen grows in a way that is genuine to real life, and has the reader rooting for the couple throughout.
I absolutely loved this book, in fact I've already read it twice! I adore Mary and Glen and their grown up relationship. They have their challenges and issues but the communicate and don’t fight about stupid stuff and painful miscommunications. I loved these characters, in Glen I saw every jet pilot I know (and I'm married to one so I know a bunch of ‘em) and in Mary I saw someone I'd love to have as a friend. I also loved seeing past characters again! This book is fine as a standalone but if you read the earlier books it will give this one more depth and will especially illuminate the relationship between Mary and Dakota. This is an incredibly well crafted romance tale with a little suspense thrown in for good measure. It was well worth the wait and now begins the wait for Jason’s book, I can't wait! I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
What can be said about Glen and Mary other than perfection!!
Hotshot, player pilot and reserved, self-reliant therapist. The epitome of opposites attract, and a great story.
Mary is the best friend of romance writer, Dakota. But she doesn't really believe in love. Abandoned as a baby she has never been the trusting sort. And has always relied on herself for all her needs. But she can't deny her attraction to super hot, super rich pilot Glen Fairchild. Having met a few times, their banter is just getting more and more flirtatious.
When Dakota goes into labor and Glen shows up, they pick up right where they left off. Him flirting and her trying to ignore.
Glen has always had fun with the ladies. But there is just something about Mary he can't seem to forget. She's beautiful, smart, and not a user. But she won't give him the time of day.
Until he asked her out and takes her on the date of a lifetime. And that's just the beginning of this whirlwind romance. He has the means to spoil her and hers gonna do everything in his power to do so.
But everything can't stay perfect. When another man shows interest in her, and another one, a client shows violent tendencies, things begin to escalate in the worst possible way. Terror beyond what Mary can imagine awaits her. And when things come to the worst possible scenario he could think of, Mary in danger and him thousands of miles away, will he lose her before ever telling her how he feels?
I absolutely loved Glen and Mary! So many swoon worthy and heart happy moments. Not to mention the snort inducing actions by some of our favorites from the series. A truly great story!!
