The reason that I usually steer clear of 2nd chance romances is usually the hero and sometimes the heroine, have had smex with OP. I want the hero and heroine to stop smex OP upon meeting. For one or both of them to have sexual relationships with OP after being with each other detracts from my enjoyment of a story and hurts the romance. I was wiling to read this second chance romance because it was on a list of books having celibate heroes.

I liked Coop the hero. His actions showed that he never stopped loving his wife, the heroine Kelsey. I wished he had pursued her more when she left him the first time. I did not like Kelsey. She was an idiot. Acting like a martyr, she spent two years apart from a man who loved her for no valid reason. It was very irritating.

The smex scenes were weird. There was nothing sexy about them.

The writing needs further editing. There were sentences that had wrong words in them. For example it is like the author used the word "spoon" when she meant to write "soon." Also the author did nothing to indicate when the point of view and scene was changing. I had to go back and reread sentences to understand what was going on and that was annoying.
