The Auschwitz Chapter Under Total Eclipse We Will Tremble Like Birds Without Song eBook Lee Vidor
I don't see many positive reviews on this book, but from one who grew up during this terrible time, I think those that do not like this book, really are not facing the truth. Only from those who survived and those who were near to the scene at the time, can really see what a terrible sin it was to kill Jews, Homosexuals, Gypsies, those with mental challenges faced.I would like to see this as positive reading for every school and every student in those schools so that THIS type of thing would never be allowed to happen again.

The Auschwitz Chapter Under Total Eclipse We Will Tremble Like Birds Without Song eBook Lee Vidor Reviews
The memory of the Holocaust should not be erased from humanity.
It's is an imprint that really should be engraved infinitely on our conscious. Those who treat themselves and their sisters and brothers with less consideration have no conscious. The instigators and their followers and participants created the true evil. The discarded dust of history.
We have to hear this, to study it, so that it is not to happen again, except it is happening now.
I met a woman a few years ago that survived a concentration camp as a child. She described hiding in a toilet. She spoke of that before Schindler's List had a scene with children hiding in the bottoms of toilets trying to survive.
It is hard to believe man can be so cruel.
I found this book to be one of those books that you can't put down. One can only imagine how they felt as they waited to die. The casual way the Nazi genocide was carried out by them makes one wonder how they were raised.
The Auschwitz Chapter is broken into two parts and actually comes from another book to give you these two chapters. Lee Vidor writes with such vivid picture words you will think yourself in the death camps. The first part is written in first person singular. Her name is Anna. She has been hidden away for two years and finds herself having to see the sky one more time. She is picked up by the Nazi. Betrayed by a woman in her neighborhood she has know all her life. Anna rides the cattle train to Auschwitz. Anna's knees buckle as she is prodded from the cattle car. Anna sees the smoke from the tall chimney...Anna smells the sweet acrid odor..Anna is in line for the selection process...Anna strips her clothes...Anna has her head and pubic area shaved...Anna is in the death chamber..Anna is pitched into the creamation chamber....The author makes this so very personal by giving her a name. Anna is not a number...she is a Jew being slaughtered!
Hanna is my name. I will tell my story because I saw this. Hannah has been stripped of clothes, walks in line with others, hears shots off in the distance and comes to a clearing when she now knows what the shots are about. Hannah falls into a pit of hundreds of bloody bodies. Hannah is covered with blood...her hair, her eyes, her skin. Hannah crawls from beneath the dead and runs maniacally until she is grabbed by someone who cuddles and hugs her....
If this does not give you a kick in the stomach, you are not human! This is such a vividly written account of two Jewish women being murdered....they have names...they are not numbers..
I had downloaded this book onto my from . This is not an enjoyment book...it is to remind us of history. Get yours today and never forget.
Too painful for me to read such detail of human depravity. I can only take my knowledge of the Holocaust from a distance. I am a coward, I know. I have been haunted by this decade long immense scale atrocity for over 50 years, since learning of it. And by the question, "Where was God?"
I mistakenly downloaded this thinking it was the entire novel, but I was hardly disappointed in this short chapter. I've read many survivor stories, so this was obviously the first to present the extermination on such a personal level.
Vidor writes with powerful imagery and I can almost smell the gas and feel the anxiety and fear. I will certainly be reading the rest of his novel.
The thoughts of people who have been captured by beasts are the heartbeats of this book's plot . The blessing of eating carrots, sharing a raw fish , and the scents of perfume, a beer hall, and fresh blood allow the reader the rare opportunity to read with all five senses. It is a sliver of an unthinkable world which really happened.
I don't see many positive reviews on this book, but from one who grew up during this terrible time, I think those that do not like this book, really are not facing the truth. Only from those who survived and those who were near to the scene at the time, can really see what a terrible sin it was to kill Jews, Homosexuals, Gypsies, those with mental challenges faced.
I would like to see this as positive reading for every school and every student in those schools so that THIS type of thing would never be allowed to happen again.
